Our Commitment to Clean Wax
At Maison Luna, we focus on candle waxes that ensure a clean and healthy burn. We want every customer to enjoy a luxurious experience with healthy, environmentally conscious choices in mind.
We primarily love soy wax for its clean-burning properties and its environmental friendliness, making it a foundation for many of our core collections.
For some of our unique decorative pieces, we also incorporate white beeswax. Derived naturally from honeycombs, beeswax is a highly stable, non-toxic wax prized for its long, bright burn. This addition helps to enhance the long-lasting burn time and provides the aesthetic rigidity that our customers seek in sculpted and shaped candles, all while maintaining our high standards for natural ingredients.
Candle Care
Always remove any adornment pieces (like bells, ribbons, dried flowers, or glitter) from the candle before lighting. These materials can be flammable and create a safety hazard.
- Trim the wick: Before each burn, trim the wick to ¼ inch for a clean, even burn.
- Dish Required: Always burn your candle on a heat-resistant dish or surface to protect furniture from potential wax drips.
-
Burn Time:
- Vessel candles: Burn your candle for 3-5 hours to create an even melt pool and prevent tunneling.
- Small shape size: Limit each burn to 2 hours per session.
- Medium to Large shape size: Limit each burn to 3 hours per session.
- Cool completely: Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting or moving.
- Avoid drafty areas: Burn your candle in a draft-free environment to avoid uneven burning and flickering. Keep away from open windows, fans, and air vents.
- Safety First: Never leave a burning candle unattended and keep it away from flammable materials, children, and pets.
- Storage: Keep your candle away from direct sunlight to prevent discoloration and extend its color and fragrance shelf life. Sunlight can fade the candle's color and weaken the scent.
- Decorative Intended Use: Due to the nature of shaped candles, we cannot guarantee a complete burn, and some wax spillage or overflow is likely, especially with unique decorative designs. These candles are primarily intended for decorative purposes.
Wax Melt Care
-
Melter Required: Use only a wax melter designed for wax melts. Do not attempt to melt wax melts in a candle burner or on the stovetop.
- Burn Time: Do not leave a wax melter unattended for extended periods.
- Cleaning: Clean your wax melter regularly to prevent residue buildup. Allow the wax to cool and solidify before removing it.
-
Safety First: Keep wax melters away from flammable materials, children, and pets.
Additional Notes
- Soy wax is sensitive to temperature fluctuations, so you may experience some frosting or slight surface imperfections. This doesn't affect the performance of the candle.
- Soy wax candles generally have a softer scent than paraffin wax candles.
- By following these tips, you can ensure your soy wax candles burn cleanly and beautifully, filling your home with fragrance and a warm glow.
